My Story
When you're born to someone who has already lived almost a lifetime before you show up on the scene, your life lessons and experiences are also unique to the era in which they were raised.
My dad was born in 1939. He lost his dad at 17 and became the breadwinner for his family. In my dad's 80-years of life, I learned a lot from his second act. I was his only child and closest confidant.
I saw his dedication to work. I watched him retire. And I witnessed his concern for outliving the money he'd earned. I saw how this stress took a toll on his health and overall happiness. When he was 78, I helped him navigate a refinance using his VA loan for the first time in his life. And my first real estate transaction would be selling the home he passed to me upon his death.
